You can make $1,000 online and much more if you’re consistent about posting.

You have to make sure you pick the right type of blog to start.

Yes, making money off a blog will take time.

Don’t expect to make $1,000 instantly with this method.

But once you get to that profitable level, you can make $1,000 in your sleep as your blog will be online 24/7 and available for customers to connect with you.

A blog is a business.

You can launch this high-profit business for less than $20 per month.

And did you know that you can actually sell a blog?

If you work at yours hard enough, flipping your blog is a real possibility.

If you’re an above-average writer and you have plans on dominating a niche, blogging is definitely the way to go to create a long-term side hustle.

Answer Paid Surveys

Companies will pay to help with their market research.

You, as a consumer, can start answering surveys for money.

Many popular paid survey sites pay participants through PayPal.

So you could earn a few extra dollars here and there simply by giving your opinions on certain products.

I have to note that answering surveys isn’t going to cut it if you want to make as much as $1,000 a week.

Traditional subjects to children are the most popular, but you could even teach skills that aren’t taught in schools.

There are platforms like Preply which pays native English speakers to teach the language to students in China.

The average earning rate for an online tutor is $22 per hour.

Best of all, you don’t even have to prepare your curriculum or teaching materials. It’s just a matter of logging on, teaching your assigned students, and getting paid.

Collect Sign-Up Bonuses.

Many sites and apps will pay you by simply registering.

So yes, you’ll likely earn smaller amounts with these sign-up bonuses, but they can add up.

Some sites will even pay you more for creating a profile and verifying your email address.

I suggest researching which sites are giving away free money without having to exert much effort.

Good at numbers? You can work as a bookkeeper.

If you’re a talented graphic designer, you can get paid to make company logos.

Most websites don’t write their own content.

Yes, I made a big deal about getting out of debt before.

I’d say it’s OK to take out a loan, but with some conditions.

First, I urge you to avoid payday loans. Sure, with a payday loan, you could get that $1,000 really fast.

But avoid them! You’ll likely end up paying way more than what you borrowed because the interest rates are crazy high.

Instead, Credible is a better platform as it helps people make better borrowing decisions by simplifying the process of comparing and taking out loans.

What should you consider before taking out a personal loan?

First, check the terms and see if they’re manageable.

Then, make sure that you have the ability to pay off the loan as quickly as possible.

If you’re able to quit your current job without having to worry about bills for a while, then this might be a solid option for you.

Did you know that getting a new job with a higher salary every few years can amp up your lifetime income way more than if you stay with the same company?

Of course, all of this depends on your industry and your current financial situation.

If it’s not possible for you to quit your current job, there’s no harm in applying for other jobs and seeing what kind of salaries you can earn elsewhere.

Hold Your Money Tightly (my wife thinks I already do this)

I mean this metaphorically (although my wife would argue that I physically do this – proof in the video below).

Cutting down on spending can majorly increase your savings every month.

Even if you don’t have a budget, you can see a change in how much more money you can accumulate by being mindful of your spending.

Start with minor changes.

Let’s say you order coffee from Starbucks every morning.

Instead of spending that $5 every day, you could brew your own coffee at home and take it to work.

Maybe you eat out during lunch, and it usually costs you around $10-15.

You can cut out that expense by prepping at home and bringing meals to work instead.

Think about all the small luxuries that you overlook.

Maybe you’re spending $20 each month for a subscription you don’t use.

If you’re like most, you probably live in a house that’s too big for you, which likely leads to extra costs all over the place.

You might be paying rent for a space that you can’t even utilize. Larger spaces mean higher heating and cooling costs too.

If you move somewhere cheaper, maintenance won’t be as expensive.

We’re supposed to live within our means, not beyond it.

I already suggested online tutoring, but creating a course is a little different.

Please note that much like blogging, creating courses is the fastest way to make $1,000.

So how does it work?

If you’re an expert in a particular field, you can share your knowledge with others for a price.

For example, you could hold online lectures exclusive to paying viewers.

The primary advantage of this side hustle is that it’s only labor-intensive in the creation part.

Once you’ve developed your course, there’s not much you have to do to earn money.

If you’re interested in this method, I suggest you check out Thinkific, Podia, or Teachable [I discuss these top platforms in this guide].

These course platforms make it easy for everybody to build professional-looking courses.

The next step would be to generate traffic for your course so more people will want to sign up for it.

Sell Your Stuff

Another common way people get out of a financial bind is to sell stuff they own.

This is maybe the fastest way you can make money, especially if you have a lot of high-value things that people will want to buy.

If you haven’t used it in a year – sell it.

The great thing about renting out spaces is that you don’t have to do it all the time.

You can choose when to make your rooms available whenever you’re in need of extra money.

Putting up an Airbnb listing can be particularly lucrative if you live in an area that tourists flock to.

Drive for Lyft

Becoming a freelance driver is a tried and true option for earning money within a flexible time frame.

For this reason, services like Lyft are a godsend.

Since your work hours depend entirely on your preference, it’s up to you how much you want to earn.

In fact, being a Lyft driver is so flexible that you have the option only to accept passengers when you’re already driving.

For example, you can make your work route profitable by taking some people along for the ride.

Earning $1,000 within a week with Lyft is definitely doable.

If you decide to take the plunge, make sure your own car insurance covers you for this new endeavor.

Think about the extra wear and tear this could bring to your car.

Busk

You may think that street performers don’t make much money.

In truth, if you pick the right time and place, you can easily make that $1,000 in a week by busking.

I actually had ‘to busk’ on my bucket list and it was something I wanted to try – it’s a lot of fun – our goal wasn’t even to make money, and I walked away with like $40 cash!

Busking is also an excellent way to build your confidence as a performer.

If this is something that you’d like to pursue, keep an eye out for busy periods in your town and areas that get a lot of foot traffic.

Your goal as a busker is to perform where you’re going to be most visible.

Pet Sit

If you’re an animal lover, taking care of other people’s pets could be the best gig for you to make an easy $1,000.

Pet owners usually pay top dollar to have their pets looked after.

Start by finding clients in your neighborhood.

You can watch your neighbor’s dog for a couple of hours during the day while they’re at work.

You can even make arrangements to look after their pet on a longer-term basis.

If you know your neighbors are going out of town for vacation, step up and offer to take care of their pets for them.

You can easily make several hundred dollars in a few days just by walking, feeding, and maybe grooming your neighbor’s pets.

You can create a profile on a site like Rover.com.

It’s a site that connects pet owners to pet carers based on proximity.

Rent Out Your Stuff (Like a Car)

If you have a couple of valuables that you don’t have the heart to sell, you can always rent them out to people.

Let’s say you have a sweet guitar, photography equipment, an exercise machine, or a car.

When my wife bought her most recent car, she was unable to sell her old car (fast market change).

So she hopped on Turo, and we’ve been able to easily cover the costs of our vehicle and even make some extra cash.

Sell Plasma

Selling plasma is a great way to earn extra money for something that you already have.

It could also help save a life, which is a bonus.

You can’t donate plasma every day, but you can earn up to $400 with one plasma collection session.

These sessions usually take around 60-90 minutes.

Of course, your viability as a plasma donor will be subject to a medical check at your nearest collection clinic.

If you meet all the requirements, then give some of your precious life force away for money.

Use your Car to Advertise

If you’re going to be driving around anyway, you might as well turn your car into a mobile billboard.

Companies like Wrapify can pay you for advertising for other companies.

All you have to do is put removable stickers on your vehicle and call it a day.

Note: I tried reaching out to a company like this when I was in college. I wasn’t a good fit because I didn’t drive enough miles in a given week. It makes sense. For them to pay you, lots of new people need to be able to see the marketing on your vehicle.

Then it might be time to supplement your primary income with a part-time job.

Getting a gig on the side in addition to your current job can be exhausting.

However, if you think about your part-time job as a short-term solution, then it might not be so bad.

Let’s say your weekdays are full because you work regular office hours.

Then focus on getting weekend work. You could work as a server, bartender, or in retail.

It will be much easier to find a part-time job around the holidays because businesses usually need more hands to meet their customers’ demands.

Sell Your Old Clothes

People love to find bargains on fashion, and you can take advantage of this fact by putting up your old clothes for sale.

Selling clothes can make you a fast $1,000 in a week, especially if you have designer items on hand.

Many people actually choose to sell old clothes as their full-time career.

They source vintage clothing from thrift shops and sell them online for a profit.

You could do the same thing, except with the clothes you already have on hand.

Take a look at your closet and see what you can live without.

If you don’t know where to start, Poshmark and Mercari are excellent starting points.

These are eCommerce platforms where you can sell second-hand stuff.

Claim your Unclaimed Funds

You might not know it, but some money might be owed to you!

You could use sites like Unclaimed.org to search for forgotten bank accounts, stocks, uncashed dividends, unclaimed insurance payments, and gift certificates you haven’t claimed.

I’ve searched the site before.

Sadly, there’s never been any money for me.

Don’t overlook this method because Unclaimed reports that they return over $billion in unclaimed funds to their rightful owners each year!

Deliver Food for Local Restaurants

Another way you can monetize your car is to deliver food to people’s homes.

You could work part-time for DoorDash and help people who don’t want to leave their homes.

Restaurants get a lot of requests for deliveries, especially these days when people are trying not to leave their houses.

Some even hire full-time employees whose sole role is to deliver orders.

But what about restaurants that don’t get a lot of delivery orders?

It wouldn’t make sense for them, from an economic standpoint, to hire dedicated delivery people.

That’s where you come in.

Apps like DoorDash and Uber Eats let ordinary people like you and me become freelance delivery people.

Buy and Sell Domain Names

A domain name is a site’s address, and there are lots of available extensions (.com, .net, etc.)

It’ll take you some time to earn $1,000 with this method, but the payoff can be insane sometimes.

[I actually sold my first-ever domain in 2021 and made $1,000+, and it was basically an accident. I had put it up for sale a year earlier and forgotten all about it!]
