Enabling Flatpak or Snap plugins using Pamac (2024)

To enable the Flatpak and Snap package options in the Pamac UI, you need to ensure that you have the libpamac-flatpack-plugin and libpamac-snap-plugin installed on your system. You can install these plugins using the following commands or from Pamac user interface (software center):

pamac install libpamac-flatpack-plugin

pamac install libbpamac-snap-plugin

After those steps are completed restart Pamac and you should have the switches under third party settings.

Activating the plugins in the Pamac UI. To do this, launch Pamac and click on "Preferences" followed by "Third Party." Scroll to the bottom of the page and toggle the buttons for the Flatpak and Snap plugins. Once you have done this, you will be able to search for and install Flatpak and Snap packages from the Pamac UI, giving you access to a wider range of software.
