Are you a Daiso lover or are you simply looking for a reason or reassurance to purchase more skincare?
We recently had a chance to explore the largest Daiso in the Kansai area, which happens to be in Osaka, and their beauty section certainly did not disappoint! In this article, we’d like to share all of the beauty finds we discovered at Daiso Japan so that you know what to expect when you come to Japan. We’ll cover skincare, body care, beauty tools & accessories, as well as makeup, so if you’re a beauty lover, you definitely won’t want to miss out on this one!
Skincare & Body Care
While you may not be able to build an entire skincare routine with Daiso products, you may still be able to find useful products to include in your routine. Here are some interesting skincare and body care products that we found in Daiso Japan.
Cleansing Water
Start your nighttime skincare routine with this Daiso Japan Cleansing Water! According to its package, it is free of artificial scents and colors, and easily removes all of the makeup from the skin.
Facial Cleansing Foam
If you prefer a single cleanse, you can go with this Daiso Japan Facial Cleansing Foam instead. This damask rose-scented cleansing foam claims to remove makeup and cleanse the skin in one step. It also contains hyaluronic acid and collagen to provide moisture to the skin.
Mascara Remover
This mascara remover looks oddly similar to another super popular Japanese mascara remover that you might have seen, but this one comes from Daiso Japan! This product will easily and effortlessly wipe your mascara away.
Vitamin C Face Sheets
These Vitamin C Face Sheets are perfect for the summer months! You may already know that cooling sheets are super popular in Japan, so it makes total sense for Daiso Japan to carry this Vitamin C version. These face sheets are designed specifically for the face and are great for wiping away excess sweat and oil. It claims that it can be a facial cleanser, but we’re a bit skeptical of how effective it can be as a cleanser on its own…
Sheet Masks (for face, nose, and even legs!)
Daiso Japan is absolute sheet masks galore! They have all types of sheet masks, both from Japan and Korea that contain ingredients like cica, collagen, hyaluronic acid, and more. What intrigued us the most though was that they carry sheet masks for different parts of the body. Take these sheet masks for legs and hands for example. Who would have thought?
Sunscreen (SPF 50+ PA++++ & Made in Japan!)
This may be one of the more surprising items we found in Japan. Yes, that's right—a sunscreen with SPF 50+ PA++++ made in Japan, available at Daiso! This product, called UV Cut Milk Lotion (essentially a milky sunscreen), is priced at 300 yen, making it a bit more expensive. But still, it claims to be effective for anti-aging and won't make your face overly shiny. It might be worth trying out if you find yourself in a Daiso in Japan.
Cica Lip Gel
This lip gel contains cica, niacinamide, and shea butter to provide ample moisture to the lips. It claims to have a thick texture, moisturizing, and is fragrance free. It may be a good beauty item to pick up from Daiso Japan for a reasonable 100 yen.
Collagen Hand Cream
If you’re looking for a hand cream that definitely won’t break the bank, Daiso Japan definitely won’t disappoint. They had a variety of hand creams, but this one piqued our interest the most. A collagen hand cream! This hand cream contains two different kinds of collagen and is not only moisturizing but also helps to brighten the hands.
LUX Body Soap Refills
You can even find brand-name body soap in large-sized refill packs at Daiso Japan! This LUX body soap is one of the more well known beauty brands in Japan, so you know that they’ll make good and reliable body soap. At this particular Daiso Japan, we could find this body soap in three different scents, but options may vary depending on the Daiso you visit.
Beauty Tools & Accessories
Daiso Japan is a great place to stock up on beauty tools and accessories. In this section, we’ll share some unique beauty-related products that we found in Daiso Japan.
Lathering Net for Face Wash
First up is this innovative lathering net specifically intended for face wash. In Japan, these types of products are popular for turning face washes into fluffy, marshmallow-like foams. Using this type of net allows for less facial cleanser to be used and also allows for a good cleanser that is gentler on the skin as opposed to manually lathering the product in your hand. For only 100 yen, you really can’t go wrong.
Makeup Sponges Galore
Daiso Japan is absolute makeup sponges galore. You can find a variety of different makeup sponges like beauty blender-esque ones, single use ones, and puff-type ones that are perfect for cushion foundations. We really recommend stocking up on a few when you visit Daiso Japan.
Eyelash Curlers
Here’s another surprising find - eyelash curlers! Japanese brands like Shiseido and Shu Uemura are known for producing some of the best eyelash curlers in the world, but they can be a bit expensive. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, you can always count on Daiso Japan! They also have a few different kinds to choose from.
False Eyelashes & Eyelash Glue
Beauty gurus always recommend stocking up on falsies in Japan, because they are known to be some of the best in the beauty industry. So if that’s your thing, Daiso Japan definitely will not disappoint. You can find full sets of falsies as well as individual ones to create your ideal look. They also sell eyelash glue separately if you’re specifically looking for that.
Double Eyelid Tape
Daiso Japan sells so many types of eyelid tape, including this double eyelid tape. They also come in pretty big packs. This one comes with 48 pieces for example.
Makeup Remover Sheets
If cleansing oil or cleansing water is not your thing, you can go for these super cute makeup remover wipes from Daiso Japan! These ones are Hello Kitty-themed and adorable.
Cotton Pads
A lot of beauty gurus will also tell you to stock up on cotton pads when you come to Japan because they are thought to be softer and more gentle compared to Western ones. However, brand name ones tend to be a bit expensive, so why don’t you just purchase them from Daiso Japan? Daiso in Japan is absolute cotton pad galore. They had a whole section dedicated to cotton pads and puffs of different sizes, so you surely can’t go wrong.
Makeup
Daiso Japan can be a surprisingly great place to stock up on some makeup essentials as well! Similarly with Daiso skincare, you may not be able to build a whole routine, but you’ll definitely be able to get a head start.
Eyebrow Powders & Gels
You’ll be able to find eyebrow powders and gels in many different colors at Daiso Japan. In our case, we happen to stumble upon these ones in Khaki Ash and Khaki Brown.
Eyeshadow
You’ll also be able to find quad eyeshadow palettes in so many different colors! A new eyeshadow palette never hurt anyone, right? Do keep in mind that many of the Daiso Japan eyeshadow palettes are 200 yen though.
Blush
If you’re into powder blush, Daiso Japan has got you covered! You’ll find powdered blushes labeled as “powder cheek” in a few different colors. The Daiso-brand ones also contain argan oil to provide a bit of moisture to the cheeks.
Cica Foundation (SPF 50+ PA++++ & Made in Japan!)
We saved the best, and most interesting product for last (in the humble opinion of the writer!). This is a color-changing foundation that contains cica, is made in Japan, and is only 200 yen! The foundation itself is green, but the color corrects itself to fit your skin tone when you apply it. It also contains sunscreen and has a UV protection of SPF 50+ PA++++, the highest rating in Japan. This product likely will not be available in Daisos overseas, so definitely buy this when you come to Daiso Japan!
