Golden Opportunity: Pizza Hut Designs 24-Karat Golden Pizza - Hut Life - Pizza Hut Brand Blog (2024)

50 lucky winners will be randomly selected to receive a special-edition Golden Garlic Knots Pizza on Game Day; Wide Receiver Golden Tate to serve as honorary representative of new golden pizza

PLANO, TEXAS (Feb. 1, 2016) – In recognition of the Golden Anniversary of the Big Game – being played in the Golden State – the all-new Stuffed Garlic Knots Pizza from Pizza Hut will be getting the golden treatment.

That’s right. The world’s largest and most-loved pizza restaurant company is unveiling a special-edition Golden Garlic Knots Pizza – topped with nearly $100 worth of real, edible 24-karat gold – just in time for Sunday, the busiest pizza day of the year.

Fans who order a Stuffed Garlic Knots Pizza from Pizza Hut on the day of the Big Game will have a chance to receive one of 50 Golden Garlic Knots Pizzas. The limited-edition pizza will be delivered in a custom, specially-designed golden box along with a $100 Pizza Hut Gold Card.

Talk about a gold rush.

“It’s not every day that the Golden Anniversary of the Big Game is played in the Golden State, so we felt it was only appropriate to celebrate with a limited-edition Golden Garlic Knots Pizza,” said Jared Drinkwater, Vice President of Marketing, Pizza Hut. “This handmade pizza starts with our all-new, great-tasting Stuffed Garlic Knots Pizza, which is then topped with about $100 worth of incredibly cool, real edible gold to make this pizza the ultimate addition to any football party on Sunday.”

Fans in select markets across the country can enter for a chance to receive a Golden Garlic Knots Pizza on Sunday, Feb. 7 by ordering a Stuffed Garlic Knots pizza on that day or without making an order by emailing a request to PR@PizzaHut.com. The Stuffed Garlic Knots Pizza, an appetizer and pizza all in one, features 16 hand-rolled cheese-stuffed garlic knots on the crust of a large pizza, served with one topping and two dipping cups of marinara sauce for $12.99. Pizza Hut expects to sell more than two and half million pizzas on Sunday.

To support Golden Garlic Knot Pizza, Pizza Hut has tapped professional football player Golden Tate as an honorary team member for this exclusive launch.

“Even if my name wasn’t Golden, I’d still think this pizza was pretty cool,” said Tate. “Pizza Hut is always trying new things to make pizza night even more special and this pizza is a perfect way to celebrate the big game this Sunday.”

Pizza Hut will offer fans a live look at the Golden Garlic Knots Pizza at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2 via Periscope.

Last week, Pizza Hut unveiled the Stuffed Garlic Knots Pizza. This week marketing will continue with the debut of a new commercial that features the hit song “My House” by Flo Rida.

The Stuffed Garlic Knots Pizza includes one of any of the following fresh ingredients: Mediterranean black olives, Peruvian cherry peppers, fresh mushrooms, fresh spinach, fresh red onions, fresh green bell peppers, sliced banana peppers, sweet pineapple, sliced jalapeño peppers, and diced roma tomatoes as well as pepperoni, Italian sausage, premium salami, classic meatballs, slow-roasted ham, hardwood smoked bacon, grilled chicken, beef and seasoned pork.
