Grounds For Sculpture is a museum, sculpture garden, and arboretum where art and nature are always at play. Outdoors, nearly 300 contemporary sculptures are sited across 42 landscaped acres. Indoors, temporary exhibitions from established and emerging artists are featured in six galleries.

The Grounds

Artwork in the indoor galleries may not be touched. Outdoor sculptures should not be touched unless indicated on the plaque. Please keep writing and sketching implements away from the artwork and museum walls.

Outside food is not permitted (contact us if you have food allergies or restrictions). Your admission ticket is valid for the entire day and you may come and go as you please. Feel free to enjoy local restaurants in the area, or dine with us!

How long are Grounds For Sculpture night forms? ›

It takes about an hour to see the entire show over a more than half-mile walk. Returning to Grounds for Sculpture for the third and final season, "Night Forms" was created by Klip Collective, a Philadelphia studio founded by video projection mapping pioneer and site-specific installation artist Ricardo Rivera.

In total, sculpting plus drying and firing will take around three months.

Entry to Grounds For Sculpture is by advance timed ticket and capacity is limited. Reservations are strongly encouraged in advance to visit.

Grounds For Sculpture was conceived as a place where audiences could experience sculpture in a familiar, accessible, and informal setting. Construction on the sculpture park began in 1989 on the site of the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds; Grounds For Sculpture opened to the general public in 1992.

GFS opened to the public in 1992. Since that time, it has welcomed over three million guests. The sculpture park, which started on 15 acres with 15 works of art on display, has expanded to 42 acres containing nearly 300 contemporary sculptures across the ever-changing landscape.
