We highly rate LiveChat. In fact, we named it the ‘Mac of live chat tools’ in our LiveChat review. And there’s no doubt that it’s one of the best live chat software we’ve tested. But does it carry an equally large price tag?

In short, no it doesn’t, but that all depends on how many agents you wish to add to your subscription.

In the past, LiveChat charged you per seat as opposed to each individual agent, as they do now. Therefore, with this change, users have seen a bit of a jump in price, as agents can no longer share seats.

LiveChat Pricing: What do I get?

LiveChat has four plans: Starter, Team, Business, and Enterprise. The entry level plan is $20per agent per month when you pay yearly and includes 60-day chat history and basic chat customization.

Higher plans allow for agent groups and more advanced reporting. These start at $41 per agent, going up to around $149 per month on the Enterprise tier. This plan also provides you with a dedicated account manager.


All plans offer canned responses, applications for web, mobile, and desktop, and daily summaries. You can even place your chat on multiple websites with no additional charge.

Conclusion: Is it Worth it?

Though LiveChat do not offer a free plan and their prices are slightly higher than other live chat software on the market, they do offer a number of features and the cost is still reasonable (so long as you don’t have many agents).

Setup is painless and, of course, they have great support and a handy chatbot (although this is priced separately, with plans starting at around $50/month).

When deciding which plan to take out you’ll need to consider exactly what the needs of your business are. For example, if one automated greeting message is enough for your requirements, you should be fine with the Starter plan.

If, on the other hand, you want to send targeted messages based on the content of the page your visitors are on and you need more advanced reporting, you’ll be looking at the Team or Business.
