Translate and spell-check on webpages (2024)

You can translate words or pages and check your spelling while entering text on a page.

Pick a language

Before you can translate words or pages, you need to pick a language to translate into.

  1. On Google Toolbar, click OptionsTranslate and spell-check on webpages (1).
  2. Click Tools.
  3. Check Translate.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Pick a language to translate into.
  6. Click Save.

Translate a page

After picking a language, you can translate an entire page or just words on that page.

  • To translate the entire page, go to Google Toolbar and click Translate.
  • To see the translation for a word not in your current language, point at it.

Check spelling

You can correct spelling mistakes while writing on various webpages.

Step 1: Turn on spell-check

  1. On Google Toolbar, click OptionsTranslate and spell-check on webpages (2).
  2. Click Tools.
  3. Check Spell check.
  4. Click Save.

Step 2: Check spelling

  1. On Google Toolbar, click Check Translate and spell-check on webpages (3).
  2. To change the spell-check language, click the Down arrow Translate and spell-check on webpages (4) Translate and spell-check on webpages (5)Choose language.
